Máximo Morales Céspedes received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering in 2015 awarded as outstanding thesis from the Universidad Carlos III of Madrid, Spain. Currently, he is associate professor at the University Carlos III de Madrid in the Communication Group of the Signal Theory and Communications department. He has been post-doc at the Université Catholique de Louvain, Belgium in the Institute of Information and Communications Technologies, Electronics and Applied Mathematics (ICTEAM) department. Moreover, he has been visiting scholar at the University of California Irvine, University of Patras, and the LiFi department of the University of Edinburgh.

He has participated in 12 national and international projects as well as several contracts with the industry related to wireless communications and visible light communications. He has published around 20 papers in international journals and conference proceedings. He is reviewer in several IEEE journals such as IEEE Communication Letter (exemplary reviewer 2015), IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing or IEEE Transactions on Communications. He was finalist in the Student Paper Contest of IEEE Region 8 and he was awarded the Fundación Telefonica prize from the Telecommunications College of Spain. His main interest are multi-antenna techniques, visible light communications and signal processing applied to wireless communications
